Glazed paperclay ceramics and self-hardening clay,  marquette foamboard, laquer and acrylic paint, wood; various dimensions.


These birds land in my hat not as actual studies of birds, but as neurotic, quarrelsome, sad, naughty, arrogant, shy, playful characters, straight out of my inner daily (human) people watching gallery cinema.

There is something deeply satisfying in going all-in on the figurative, seemingly naïve, age-transcending, allowing myself to indulge in pop-like sensibilities and accessibility, whilst still imbedding spleen and various ideas than can go in several directions but don’t necessarily have to. These birds are friends.
